Amazing Protein Pancakes!!!

Had to share this pancake recipe I made this morning. These are going to be awesome when the dieting gets really hard-core. If you're a competitor, these are the next best thing to Bisquik pancakes!! If you're not a competitor, you will probably think these are a sorry excuse for pancakes, I suppose.

I found a protein pancake recipe last night on probodybuilding.com. The video is pretty dry and boring, but you have to watch it to get the recipe. I changed the recipe a bit from what they posted and here's what I did...

6 egg whites
1 scoop Dymatize Elite Whey Isolate - Gourmet Vanilla flavor
1/2 cup dry oats
1/4 cup fat free cottage cheese
1tsp baking powder
1Tbsp CapTri MCT Oil
Dash of Costco's Saigon Cinnamon - nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice would be good too

The batter was pretty runny, so it made crepe-like pancakes, which I happen to LOVE, so it was all good with me. It made 4 plate-sized pancakes. I used sugar-free maple syrup on top. YUM!!!

  1. Julie, you should check out www.questproteinbar.com

They have amazing protein bars that DON'T have any crap in them... NO fillers, NO sugar, NO sugar alcohols... NO transfats, NO glycerine....

They taste fabulous and there is NO after taste like all other bars.

  2. I took a look at those...as far as bars goes, they look decent. My own personal take on manufactured bars: not a fan of the processed, packaged stuff. The only pre-packaged bars I ever eat are Parrillo bars because I KNOW they are clean. Parrillo has a great selection of bars...the sampler pack is the bomb!!! Only one per household...it has a sample of every flavor - AWESOME!

I like to make my own bars and eat as much "real" food as possible. I'll share one of my protein bar recipes in a later post! :)
